10 weeks, part 2

Yesterday we didn't go to the beach but went into Merritt Island for lunch, to buy groceries, for Carl to visit the Vet Center, and for Susan to do some stocking stuffer shopping.

So this morning we headed for the beach. There is a boardwalk from the resort to the beach.

Wow, a lot happened with the beach reclamation in 48 hours! This is a closeup of the sand spewing out of the pipes. We were able to walk along side the heavy equipment for a closer look. The work is now almost past the resort to the south, about 700 yards farther than it was 2 days ago when we first checked out the beach.

Notice the difference below from this rather light colored sand/water mixture and then following photo where it darker.

Above there is less sand and more water. Below what spews out is darker and contains more sand than water!

Here is the Cape Caribe Beach Resort oceanfront building where we will be next week. The sand reclamation work is just behind where I’m taking the photo to the left. BTW, the resort buildings have recently been painted a tan color instead of the previous marigold color.

There is a second boardwalk being built around the other side of the oceanfront building (beside Jetty State Park) for bicycles which the resort soon will rent to guests.

I told you to expect flora and fauna photos.

The pergola is at the end of the oceanfront building along the new bike path.

Here the concrete bike path is going in along the north side of the oceanfront building.

And here is the new Building 3 (Signature units).

Never before have we seen the local free range peacocks on the resort property.

Carl always has to check out the animals.

After changing into our suits we headed to Building 3 to check out the new “adult” no-splash pool. It is absolutely lovely and is our choice for a quiet afternoon soaking up the sun’s rays.

These new lounge chairs in shallow water are really nice. The water is warm because the water is only about 6 inches deep.

Here is the new no-splash pool...

...and the hot tub.
