Viva Pearl Pens are just like puffy paint and can be used to make greeting cards! I've used this technique on fabric, and now it can be used on paper with these pens!

Twirly Batik Skirt

What fun this skirt is! I'm a beginning quilter who has discovered batiks. As a former home sewer for myself and my daughter when she was younger, I'm ready to tackle this skirt for summer fun.

Fun Paper punches

I love those paper punches that emboss and punch at the same time. There's a new Martha Stewart one that is a cup of hot chocolate! One of my personal favorites is a heart with a criss-cross embossed design. These embossed punches add great dimension to greeting cards--just punch 'em out, use glue dots, and adhere to card stock! It can't get much easier.fun paper punches

Cricut--What a wonder for card making

I'm a rubber stamper and greeting card maker. Learning new techniques is fun at the RC on Main in Charles City every third Wednesday.

At home I have a Cricut Personal Cutter, and I LOVE it! Wish I had more time to play with it and create layers.

Our craft group at church is called the UMW Crafters, and we make greeting cards which we sell for $1. All of the proceeds goes toward mission work of the United Methodist Women, including a special scholarship fund for children in the village of Chontalá, Guatemala, to help pay their school fees. I went on a mission trip with UMCOR there in January of 2007, and we built a house for a 23-year-old widow with 3 children under age 5. Her step-brothers aged 9 and 11 were not in school, so the 5 teachers on the mission team set up a program to send a dozen kids to school. When we came home to Iowa, we began raising the money to get them through grade 6 at least.
